A trip to Hampton Court Palace πŸ‘‘πŸŒ·πŸŒΊπŸŒΈ

Happy Saturday everyone!

Not sure about you all but today’s weather has been super bizarre. Rain this morning, then went dry, then sunshine but windy and now glorious? I can’t cope! I find it really hard to make any plans with the weather at the moment as you just don’t know what to do and how to prepare for the rain.

My boyfriend had a great idea for us to go to Hampton Court Palace. I had seen the pictures before and had driven past it a number of times but hadn’t had the chance to go in. We booked tickets online last night as they were slightly cheaper at Β£18.40pp and we drove there this morning and luckily got a car parking space before it got too busy.

It was lovely- the grounds were amazing and you had an audio guide to accompany you around and give you all the stories of the Tudors, Georgians and Stuart’s who each ruled from the palace. The most famous name to listen about was of course King Henry VIII whose story was actually really interesting. It took me right back to my history lessons in primary school where we would learn about him and just how much food he would eat- turns out this part is very true!

Once you’ve listened to the stories and seen the different rooms, you also have the chance to wander around the beautiful gardens. There is so much land and it’s right next to the river and very pretty. There’s also a maze in the gardens and they have a place situated behind the car park called ‘Magic gardens’ which is lots of fun for kids and includes interactive and climbing activities. The only downside was that parking was expensive and shame that it didn’t become included within the ticket price or at least a one off fee.

We have some family getting married in the garden room there next year which should be beautiful so really looking forward to that. Take a look at the pics below to see what I got up to- definitely recommended it though. Lovely day out 🌞
